+/-0 – Stream of Unconsciousness

+/-0 is a Dresden-based drone and noise project that has been self-releasing music since 2023 under the Creative Commons license.
With a strong sense for both minimalism and rawness, their music focuses on slowly evolving soundscapes that award patience and deep listening. Subtle variations in atonal drones appear next to outbursts of unsettling noise and create images both bleak and colorful. While full of dissonance, distortion and glacial movement, there is a core underneath that resonates with the human experience.
Their main interest lies in feedback systems, created from simple electronic components, such as oscillators, filters and effects. Together they form complex, non-linear systems that produce inherently chaotic sounds, constantly drifting between stable and unstable oscillations. Within this haystack of sonic manifestations, +/-0 searches for musical content that tells a story and evokes a human response. By careful curation of system designs and recordings, arrangements are formed which eventually become music pieces, albums and live performances.

Stream of Unconsciousness is minimalistic dark ambient and drone music for deep listening.
Originally conceived as a structured, story-driven project, during production the focus shifted towards exploring how deep listening reshapes the perceived narrative in music.
Slow moving drones evolve and give enough room to find fragments of a story in every little detail. Like the brief moment of falling asleep, thoughts appear but are immediately blurred and reform into something else. As the atmosphere turns uneasy, almost feverish, abrasive sounds rupture through the haze, briefly sharpening the focus before vanishing again. In the end, all movement holds and converges into a near-static hum.
Created entirely from controlled feedback loops within a modular synthesizer system.
Carefully tuned networks of delays, ring modulation, compression, and distortion generate slow-moving drones, interrupted by the noise of cybernetic feedback sequences
Intended as a single continuous piece.
