EX! – Magazine for Experimental Art
EX! Magazine is an independent magazine for experimental music and visual art with an international focus. It highlights artists who work outside established structures, radical, exploratory, and genre-crossing, such as David Wallraf, Gudrun Gut, Richard Chartier, and PERIMETER O. EX! features voices and positions that are unique and eclectic in the global art and music scene.
Each issue, spanning approximately one hundred pages, comes with in-depth interviews, background articles, essays, and columns that illuminate artistic processes and deepen aesthetic discourse. Reports with a strong focal point on the experimental scene in Leipzig bridge the gap between the local scene and the international network. The editorial scope is complemented by reviews of current music releases and books, as well as literary contributions that broaden the magazine’s perspective. EX! Magazine is made by artists who come from the experimental art and music circle themselves.
A central element of the magazine is the digital compilation of musical contributions from artists worldwide. In addition, each print issue includes an exclusive digital album by a selected musician – a unique artistic statement that engages directly with the magazine’s content.
EX! Magazine is produced to a high standard, printed climate-neutrally on recycled paper, and combines fascinating content with minimalistic design. Currently, the magazine is distributed to twenty countries, thus contributing to the international networking of experimental scenes.
EX! Magazine stands for artistic independence, interdisciplinary exchange, and a sustainable, consciously produced publishing culture.
