Jonathan Poliart – Melomed
Jonathan Poliart’s album Melomed comprises four tracks of approximately 10 minutes each, inviting the listener into an immersive, meditative, and contemplative experience.
Each track consists of a maximum of four layers: three layers of textures and melodies and a melodica layer that introduces the notion of breath and respiration, contrasting with the rigidity of the synthesizers. The approach here is to work with soft, calming sounds, spaces between the layers of sound, evolving textures and simple, complementary melodies.
This project brings together essential elements from Jonathan Poliart’s various current projects: the experimental and improvisational facet of martiensgohome, the melodies developed in the “pop” project The Paint, the electronic structures of Sublyme Diagonal, the use of acoustic instruments in the duo Sublyme Diagonal & Roger 3000, and the meditative aspect of the creations of SOJA POVA, the video project with painter Samuel Vanderveken.
Melomed was recorded and composed in a home studio in Brussels and attempts to capture the energy and feelings experienced during the summer and autumn of 2025.
Jonathan Poliart is also known as Sublime Diagonal.
