Jules Hildebrand – ingen
ingen is an EP shaped by themes of absence and quietness. Recorded between Copenhagen and Gdańsk, it unfolds through restrained textures, small sonic gestures, and the subtle language of the environments surrounding it. Its title comes from the Scandinavian word for “no”, “none” or “nobody”, reflecting the project’s focus on the quiet tension that connects presence and absence. ingen frames presence as the point from which absence becomes perceptible. Rather than treating absence as void, it creates a space where emptiness becomes intentional.
Jules Hildebrand is a musician, curator and cultural professional from Switzerland. He produces and performs electronic music, whose influences range from ambient to avant- garde, techno and noise music. He is Artistic Co-Director of FOG Festival, a yearly festival for contemporary electronic music and sound art based in Basel, CH. His biweekly radio show “Zaduma” on Radio Kapitał explores stillness, introspection, and attentive listening. His work moves between composition, field recording, and sound curation, exploring how listening can shape our perception of location and time. In recent years he has become increasingly interested in the poetics of environment, exploring sound as a form of contemplation, a medium that exists between presence and distance, discipline and drift.
