rikardfvs – Borderline Existence / Randexistenzen
Created by the artist rikardfvs, “Borderline Existence” consists of five audio tracks exploring the border between noise music and instrumental lounge music. How much non-traditional musical sound and (dis)harmonies can we add before a rather ÒnormalÓ sentimental piece turns into something that the general public would claim as impossible to listen to? This is, of course, a question that is hard to find an answer to – but to perform experiments in this borderland is a possibility.
Rikard Friberg von Sydow, an artist and researcher from Uppsala, Sweden, uses the artist handle rikardfvs to make his music. He uses exclusively free and open-source software and perform all his digital work in a Linux environment. In recent years, he has released a large number of tracks on various labels. In addition, he curates the mix-hour “Nya Ljud” on Camp Radio, which features brand-new music from contemporary experimental musicians.
