Simon Cacheux – Floating Catastrophe
Simon Cacheux is a sound artist, musician and sound designer for museums. His practice is anchored in improvisations followed by a long process of editings and collages. He explores field recordings, synthesized sounds and acoustic instruments like shakuhachi and cymbals.
Floating Catastrophe is somewhat a contemplative album. It is mainly about the imminence, or not, of a catastrophe. Or maybe it has already happened… In any case, there is the uncertainty of the event and how we, as a species, seem unaffected by it.
